Navigate the Staff App

How to use the staff sidebar, grouped sections, Admin and Account areas, and role-based navigation.

Use the left sidebar

The left sidebar is the main way to move through Topo. The top links are Dashboard, POS, Inbox, Tasks, My Shifts, and Help Docs. Below those, Topo groups the larger feature areas into Marketing, Routesetting, Commerce, Membership, Events, Reporting, and Team.

Open grouped sections

Grouped sections expand when the current page is inside that group. Otherwise they stay collapsed so the sidebar remains scannable. Open a group to reach pages such as Members, Promotions, Products, Terminal Readers, Plans, Schedule, Reports, Team, Roles, and Shift Management.

Use Admin and Account

  • Admin is for operational configuration such as categories, tags, custom fields, proficiencies, waivers, sign-up flow, email templates, branding, and kiosk settings.

  • Account is for business/account configuration such as billing, API keys, Mailchimp, custom domain, and organization settings.

  • Admin and Account render as sidebar entries with tabbed sub-navigation inside the page area.

Why links may be missing

Topo hides navigation items that your role cannot view. For example, POS requires sales permission, reports require reporting permission, and role/team tools require team permissions. If a teammate can see a page but you cannot, ask an owner or admin to review your role.

Common pitfalls

  • Do not assume a hidden link means a feature is disabled for the whole gym.

  • If a page loads but shows a forbidden message, your role can reach the route but not the action it tried to perform.

  • If you manage multiple locations, check the location selector before acting on location-specific records.
